Analysis of attendance trends in 2024 season
- Changes in average attendance by matchweek for J1, J2, and J3 clubs
-
Attendance results for 2024 season show that attendance by matchweek was higher than in 2019 and 2023 during the peak periods for attracting visitors: April to June (during and after the Golden Week), July to August (during the summer holidays) and September (the Silver Week).
Attendance has increased not only in J1 but also in J2 and J3 due to a combination of factors, including the increase in the number of J1 clubs to 20, which has boosted overall attendance; the strengthening of local exposure in recent years, which has led to increased interest among the community and enabled each club to schedule matches that focus on attracting spectators; the strategic increase in matches played at the Japan National Stadium; and the new stadium effect. - J1
