2024 J.LEAGUE YBC Levain CUP Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo, FC Machida Zelvia, Albirex Niigata, Nagoya Grampus and Sanfrecce Hiroshima qualified for the Prime Round

Following the results of the 2024 J.LEAGUE YBC Levain CUP Play-off Round 2nd leg held today, Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo, FC Machida Zelvia, Albirex Niigata, Nagoya Grampus and Sanfrecce Hiroshima have qualified for the Prime Round.
  Total of eight teams comprising five qualified teams as mentioned above and Kawasaki Frontale, Yokohama FMarinos and Ventforet Kofu which have participated in ACL2023/24 knockout stage will play the Prime Round in a home and away tournament.
The fixtures for the Prime Round starting from Wednesday, September 4th shall be determined following the draw which will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd.

Prime Round schedule and competition format 

- Match Schedule

Quarter-finals:  1st Leg   Wednesday, September 4   /  2nd Leg   Sunday, September 8

Semi-finals:       1st Leg   Wednesday, October 9       /  2nd Leg   Sunday, October 13

Final:     TBD 

 

- Competition Format

Total of eight teams comprising five winning teams from the Play-off Round and the three teams (Kawasaki Frontale, Yokohama FMarinos and Ventforet Kofu) participating in ACL 2023/24 knockout stage play in a home and away tournament (There is only one match for the final).
Fixtures of the Prime Round shall be determined following the draws after the Play-off Round.


- Quarterfinals, Semi-finals (home and away)

In case a 90-minute match (two halves of 45 minutes each) is played and no winner is decided, the match ends in a tie. The winner in each round is the team with the highest number of wins for two matches. If the number of wins is the same, the ranking is determined based on the following, in order of priority.

            Goal difference for two matches

           30-minute extra time (two halves of 15 minutes each) at the end of the 2nd leg

           Penalty shoot-out

(Five players from each team. If the winner is not decided, the sixth and subsequent players will take turns to kick until the winner is decided.)

  

- Final (One match)
In case a 90-minute match (two halves of 45 minutes each) is played and no winner is decided, an extra 30 minutes (two halves of 15 minutes each) is played. If the winner is still not decided, the winner is decided by a penalty shoot-out. (Five players from each team. If the winner is not decided, the sixth and subsequent players will take turns to kick until the winner is decided.)
