Super Cup partner decided From 2022 season, Super Cup to be named FUJIFILM SUPER CUP

The J.LEAGUE is pleased to announce its decision to sign the Super Cup Partner Agreement for 2022 with FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corporation. This marks the 29th consecutive year that the agreement was signed with FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corporation since the first Super Cup in 1994.
The competition will be renamed FUJIFILM SUPER CUP from 2022 and is scheduled to be held in mid-February.
The FUJIFILM SUPER CUP will be the 2022 J.LEAGUE season opener between the 2021 MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE champion Kawasaki Frontale and the 101st EMPEROR’S CUP winning team (to be decided on December 19, 2021). This competition that pits the winners of the two tournaments attracts attention every year.

The Super Cup held since 1994 is a competition in which the previous season’s J.LEAGUE champion team and EMPEROR’S CUP winning team face off against each other. Since the first year, Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. (former name of FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corporation) has sponsored the competition then called XEROX SUPER CUP, which was held until 2008. In 2009, it was renamed FUJI XEROX SUPER CUP, which was held until 2021. From the 2022 season, the competition in its 29th year will be held under the new name, “FUJIFILM SUPER CUP.”
